Lára was raised in the US by Icelandic parents. From a young age, she was inspired by myndlyst, the word for art in her native language. Lára spent summers in Iceland, which contributed to her appreciation of Scandinavian Design, natural beauty, and light. As a grapheme color synesthete, her passion for color is unwavering. Ask her how she visualizes the alphabet and numbers sometime.
After earning a BFA in Visual Design + Photography at the University of Oregon’s School of Fine Arts, Lára began her career in the creative industry in Reykjavík. Her experience ranges from award-winning global ad agencies, design boutiques, freelance design, photography, and the client side of retail. Her international client experience ranges from Volkswagen, Royal Caribbean, Google, Dunkin’ Donuts, IBM, HomeGoods and Homesense to name a few.
Lára has traveled the world art directing photoshoots with acclaimed photographers which continues to fuel her own passion for photography.
She makes her home in the Boston area with her family. In her free time she enjoys the outdoors, travel, cooking, painting, CrossFit, and has completed several marathons.
